The Tranquil Veteran — PTSD Recovery & Support Programs

The Tranquil Veteran is a no-cost meditation program for U.S. military veterans living with symptoms of post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety. It teaches Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (TWIM), a loving-kindness (metta) practice, inside a structured clinical-support framework led by a licensed psychologist who is also a certified TWIM instructor.

Consistent with the 2023 VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline, the program is offered as an adjunct to established care, not a replacement for it. It augments trauma-focused treatment, offers a low-stigma entry point for veterans not yet in care, and builds durable self-regulation and self-compassion skills. Every participant is screened, supported, and actively connected to first-line treatment.
